Savoury Sandwich Filling
Scald Jib. tomatoes, peel and cut into slices, place in saucepan with a tablespoon of butter and simmer gently for a few minutes. Add 2oz. grated cheese, 4oz. breadcrumbs, a well beaten egg, a little chopped onion, salt and pepper. Simmer until it thickens, place in jars, pour melti.i butter over to preserve it, and it will keep for a 'long time. W.W.
