Hundreds of .' spectators gazed spell- . bound '. as a. scantily-elad prisoner swarmed up the water pipes like a cat, ; and precariously balanced :: himself on the lofty-roof of Barlinnie Prison,, Glasgow. : ~- - ■ - ; There the prisoner took off his shoes and socks and basked in the sunshinowith his jacket as a pillow. The warders prevented spectators from taking snapshots of the man, who rose, walked on the roof, struck attitudes, and did physical jerks until sundown. ■ - . Then, he demanded hard-boiled eggs and .a : little /fresh air. Eventually he persuaded to descend.
