Mask, Gun and Bludgeons Found by Police
EARLY MORNING ARREST IN WELLINGTON In the course of his investigations in connection with the reported hold-ups which have occurred in tho suburbs of Wellington during tho past week, Detective McLennan, with Constable Scarry, arrested two men at Petonb at 10 o’clock on Thursday night on a charge of breaking and entering. Detective McLennan communicated with the detective office at Wellington and, as a result of certain information which he supplied, Detective-Sergeant Trieklebank, accompanied by Detectives Jarrold, Kane and Ritchie, ■went to Abel Smith street, where they arrested at 3 a.m. yesterday a third man on a charge of breaking and entering and theft. When the man's lodgings were subsequently searched, the detectives found a mask, an automatic pistol, ammunition and two bludgeons.
