Unemployment Tide Still Rising
WEEKLY INCREASE IN REGISTRATIONS Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Unemployment registrations tor the week ended August 10 were 48,070, an apparent increase of 274 us compared with .the previous week’s total. The number of men placed under the No. 5 scheme was 35,504, while 5397 were engaged under scheme 4a and 997 under scheme 4b. The registrations in the main centres were: Auckland, 7030; Wellington, 4902; Christchurch, ,5241; Dunedin, 2775; Invercargill, 1245.
