Miss Maureen Walsh, Kimbolton road, Fcilding, who is spending a fortnight in Wellington, is staying with her cousin, Miss Meg Knyvctt.

As several people have offered to make jam if bottles arc provided, tho Relief Committee will be grateful if people having bottles to spare willkindly leave them at the depot in Broadway.

Thompson and Mrs. Eggers spoke in reference to Miss King’s work in iatrnerston North, which had extended over a number of years, and expressed the Institute’s good wishes for her future.

Miss C. R. Ashton, secretary of the Palmerston North Y.W.C.A., has been notified that she is to proceed to Auckland for a month’s observation of the methods of the work carried out in the Auckland Association. This visit would have been made earlier in the year but for the rush of relief work in this district. Miss Ashton will attend the National Board biennial mectiug in Wellington from August 24 to 27 after which she will leave for Auckland. During her absence Miss Wills, who was in charge of the Gisborne Association, will conduct the affairs of the local Y.W.O.A.

Tho death occurred at the residence, Broadway avenue, Palmerston North, on Wednesday last, of Mrs. Georgina Blanch Titchiner at the advauced ago of 80 years. Born in Highclere, Hampshire, the deceased lady was married in 18S1 and eamo out .to the Dominion two years later in tho sailing ship Crusader, arriving at Lyttelton. Mr. Titchiner came north in ISS7 and for somo years followed the occupation of bridge building, Mrs. Titchiner following two years later. (She accompanied her husband on his journeys into the backblocks experiencing many of the hardships with which the pioneers of this Dominion had to cope. About 34 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Titchiner took up permanent residence in Palmerston North whore .they have resided ever since. There are left to mourn their loss a husband and an only son, Mr. Leslie Herbert Titchiner, while there are four grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. One grand-daughter and tho two great grandchildren are all resident in Melbourne.
