DRASTIC STEPS TO PREVENT OVEESUPPLY.
United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Thursday, 7.30 p.m. WASHINGTON, Aug. 12. The United States Farm Board iias taken drastic steps to stabilise cotton prices. It telegraliped to the fourteen Governors of the cot-ton-producing States urging them to lead a movement to abandon much of the cotton now growing, thus eliminating the excess which threatens direst disaster to the cotton-growing States. The 'Board suggested that every third row of cotton be immediately ploughed under.
