Claim to Estate
LONDON, August 3. “I have not heard Of anything,” said Mr Seaward, of Burton, Yeates and Hart, the London lirm of solicitors who are reported from Sydney to be handling tho claim to a London leasehold estate by the bcnefiviarics of the late Robert Hobbs, of Pitt Town, New South Wales, under a will dated 13311. “Possibly, however, instructions are on the way.”. “There was a similar inquiry,” added Mr Seaward, “five or six .years ago, when a Sydney lirm sent over a cleric, together with two claimants, to investigate claims to an East End estate. Investigations showed that it was a wild goose chase. Many such claims have been proved groundless.- Tho most recent was an American's claim to have inherited a watermill stream and some fields near Charing Cross.”
A few days ago in Sydney, the Probate Judge, Mr. Justice Harvey, on behalf of tho Public Trustee, granted letters of administration of the will of Robert Hobbs, who died in 1839, and whose descendants are well-known in the Windsor district.
