SUGGESTION FOR RELIEF. Per Press Association. STRATFORD, Aug. 13. Dealing with , racing taxation, which he described as a heavy burden on clubs; th'o 'President ’of the Stratford Club, Mr D. J. Malone, said at present the Government rebate of 24 per cent, allowed to clubs on the first £25,000 put through the totalisator, afforded a measure of relief,, but a lot of the smaller clubs received very small benefit from it. He suggested that the Club approach the Racing Conference with a request that the Government allow a rebate of 2} per cent, on the first £IO,OOO and 14 per : cent. on the next £15,000 ,q.p to £25,000.
