A very quiet wedding took place on Tuesday morning when Miss Cecily Fitz Herbert, of Palmerston North, was married to Mr. Henry Petre. Only relatives of the couple were present. In honour of the marriage a number of functions were held previously. Mrs. J. Hope Johnston, Mrs. S. A. Goldingham and Miss Molly Goldingham gave a skating and supper party; Mrs. W. Riddet, a luncheon party; Mrs. Hunter Will, a morning tea party; Mrs. Bale, a luncheon party at her residence, College street; and Mrs. J. T. Bosworth, a tea party.
