Basketball Team to Meet Wellington

Richards (Y.M, Gym.), M. Collins (H.5.0.G.), H. Jarvis (Levin), J. McKenzie (Levin); emergencies, L. Whitehouse (C.0.G.), M. Ricnards (Y.M. Gym.), C. Delaney (C.0.G.). This match will take place on the Technical School ground at 2.30 p.m. The following basketball players will practise this morning (if wet at the Y.M. Gym.) E. Norris, y J. Sheppard, L Whitehouse, S. Manawatu will meet Horowhenua A and B teams in representative games on Saturday, August 22, and will also meet a Bush team in the near future. On Saturday morning Linton school basketball team journeyed to Tokomaru to play a friendly match, the result being a win for the visitors by 23 goals to seven. Miss Gloyn controlled the game. Mid-week Competitions The mid-week competition games resulted: Convent High School A 10 v. Convent High School B 4; Convent Old Girls A won by default from Y.M. Gym.
