Still Unsettled Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. A deep depression has been crossing the Dominion to-day. A moderate anticyclone has. developed over south-east-ern Australia. Winds: ' Strong northcrlics to gales north of Farewell Spit and Akaroa but a change to west and southwest is advancing from the south. Southerly winds arc likely to bo general after about 24 hours.
Seas (New Zealand waters): Heavy in Cook and Fovcaux Straits and on tho West Coast of the South Island; elsewhere rather rough to rough. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong northerly winds to gales but change to west and southwest advancing from tho west. Seas rough. Weather: Unsettled and squally with rain at times in all districts. Snow on high levels and hail in places. Temperatures becoming cooler.
