Hockey Referees’ Association
COMBINED MEETING.
A fully representative meeting of hockey referees from the surrounding districts wa s held in the Borough Council Chambers, i'-ahiatua, last evening, over whicu Air. Barton presided. Apologies were received troni several referees lor nun-attendanee. Considerable discussion took place in connection with the business to bo dealt with at a special general meeting ox me New Zealand Hockey Referees' Association to be held m Wellington on xnursday, August 20, 1931. The order contained several notices oi motion. These were eiiscussed at length with tne Toliowing result:— icuie 11 A which nao neon given notice to alter, was not agreed to uy ail present. The rule stated tnat omy A grade referees snail act on the management committee of the New Zealand Hockey Referees' Association. Rule 48 A was agreed to which concerns the examination committee to consists of six members whoso duties arc to conduct ail theory and practical examinations arranged by the New Zealand Hockey Referees’ Association. The members present considered that the percentage pass of 90 for theory and practice examinations was too higu and the meeting decided that SO per cent, was ample. All associations represented undertook to send delegates to the meeting on August 20 at Wellington. A hearty vote of thanks to the Bush Association under whose auspices the meeting ivas held also for thoir kind hospitality concluded a very instructive and enthusiastic meeting. Mr. Parton thanked all those present for attending and sincerely hoped that the same class of meetings would bo held in future season*
