LURICH-McDOUGALL WRESTLING STAKES IMPOUNDED Per Press Association. WHANG ARE I, Aug. 11. A packed attendance in the Town Hall last night witnessed Tom Lurich and Scotty McDougall wrest! a draw, on a fall each.

Lurich scored first with a hody scissors in the fourth round. In the seventh McDougall threw his opponent through the ropes and, on his return, p: \ed him. with a body press. The exhibition was very disappointi. g to many spectators, who accompanied it with hoots, groans, catcalls and counting out. A draw was declared after the - id of the eighth round.

The local committee then held an emergency meeting and decided to impound the stakes and to send a protest to the Now Zealand Council, for the latter’s ruling. At a meeting of the executive committee of the U'anganui Wrestling Association to-night it was decided that the purse for the I’asha-Piuto bout last Saturday night bo not paid over and that a statement bo forwarded to the Council that the committee is of opinion that the contestants did not fulfil tHeir contract.
