Burglary in Foxton's Main Street

Some- time during Monday night or early yesterday morning a thief entered the drapery establishment of Miss Brewer in Main street, Foxton, and removed a quantity of men’s clothing, together with a new bicycle belonging to tho manager, Mr. J. H. Painton. Among the articles taken wero a number of shirts, size 3, white collars, size 151; trousers, lumber jackets and 12 pairs of socks, together with a large suitcase, which was evidently used for carrying the goods away. Entry to the building was gained through the front door on Main street. Tho heavy glass panel of the door had been smashed near the lock, and tho thief had evidently inserted his hand through the aperture and released the safety catch. The first intimation of the theft was received by the polico from a Maori girl who noticed the smashed glass of the door on her way to school. The police have the matter in hand, but so far no arrests have been made.
