Telephone Directory Title to he Changed
RESTORATION OF MARTON LIST. Advieo that the suggestion that the title of the Palmerston North-Feilding telephone directory should bo altered to Manawatu had been agreed to by the P. and T. Department, was received at yesterday afternoon’s meeting of tho council of the Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce from the Chief Postmaster at Palmerston (Mr. F. W. Furby). Tho change, he added, would be made in the next issue. l'u reference to the exclusion of Marten subscribers from the list, Mr. Furby explained that this had been on account of the cut-over to automatic working at Marton, and that the Marton subscribers would be included as usual in the next issue.
It was regretted that tho request for tho inclusion of the Pahiatua list could not be granted. The advice was received, Mr. Fnrbv, who wa s present at the ineering, being thanked for his efforts in the matter.
