Not Passing It On
REDUCTION IN PRICE OF PETROL. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. No reduction in the retail prico of petrol is being made according to a statement issued by tho petrol section of the Wellington Motor Trade Association. Explaining why tho rebate of Id per gallon by tho wholesalers is not being passed on to the public the association says that in November last the retailers reduced the price by Id without a commensurate reduction from tho main oil corporations. Many stations found it difficult to carry on at this price with the altered trading system recently introduced by the companies whereby credit terms were reduced to a half-monthly basis. Therefore tine retailers find it impossible to pass on the recent reduction made in the wholesale price. Some servico stations, howover, tire advertising tho reduction.
