Dream-Song
Sunlight, moonlight, Twilight, starlight— G-loaming at the close of day, An owl calling, Cool dews falling In a wood of oak and may. Lantern-light, taper-light, Torchlight, no-light: Oarkness at the shut of day, And lions roaring, Their wrath pouring In'wild places far away. EJf-light, bat-light, Touchwood-light and toadlight, And the sea a shimmering gloom of g«>y, And a small face smulmg In a dream’s beguiling In a world of wonders far away. —Walter De La Mare, in "Poems of 1901 to 1918.”
