Lifeless Wool Market at Home
MORE ACTIVITY IN FRANCE AND BELGIUM. United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. LONDON, Aug. 9. Mr, W. P. Devereux, the Australian Wool Council’s representative, reports: “Tho Bradford market is featureless. Topmakers’ prices are firm and unchanged. The result of the ballot among tho workers indicates that a stoppage is not likely. “Tho. sales of tops in Germany are less than half the normal quantity. Prices for Merino tops arc unchanged. With the resumption of work at tho mills and factories in Northern France, a more active market prevtils. There have been fair sales of tops for local spinners’ requirements, but prices are unchanged. The export of tops to other Continental countries is practically at a standstill owing to the financial situation.
