Home-Made Smelling Salts
Smelling salts are quite easy to prepare at homo, and if you care to make a quantity, and buy several pretty glass bottles, they will form pleasing gifts to friends. Use ingredients in the following proportions: —To a pint of liquor of ammonia fort allow 1 dram each of oil of lavender and fine oil of rosemary, ten minims of oil of peppermint - and half a dram of oil of bergamot. When thoroughly blended divide tho preparation into the bottles, into which you have already placed small pieces of sponge; put in the glass stoppers, cover these with ovals of white ldd cut from old gloves, and tie down with dainty narrow ribbons.
