Bowling Carnival at Brisbane

NEW ZEALAND PLAYERS. The majority of the members of the New Zealand bowling team to compete in the carnival at Brisbane on August 24 will leave Auckland for Australia by the Niagara to-morrow. It is expected that subsequent to the carnival a tour will bo arranged for the team by the New South Wales and Qu. ee “®' land Bowling Association. Mr. J. W. Hardley, of Auckland, who was manager of the New Zealand team which toured Great Britain, Ireland, Canada, and the United States in 1928, will again bo manager. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Hardley. Mr. J. Pascoe, of Auckland, will be president. . The following have been chosen to make the trip:—Messrs. F. Bums, H. J Bray, W. Bremncr, H. Collins, V. Casey, F. H. Davenport, H. W. Frost, J. T. Gill, E. J. Goldsmith, C. E. Haidley, J. W. Hardley, J. J. Hipkms, H. S. Hill, W. Hunt, I'- Hummer, A. Moore, G A. McKendrick, A. J. Parker, J. Pascoe, H. A. Robertson, C. G. bandin and W. Tliomass, of Auckland.; Messrs. A. M. Chivers, J. S. Eiper, G. Ramsay, and J. Wyber, of Christchurch: Messrs. W. Chegwidden G. W. Weller, and D. H. Whiting, oi Wellington; and Mr. M. J. Suhan, of Levin. Messrs. H. Collins, C. E. Hardley, W. Thomass, A. J. Parker, J. J. Hipkms, F. Binns, H. S. Hill, and V. Casey are already in Australia, and will join the team at Sydney. A number of members of the team will be accompanied by their wives. It is anticipated that they will be m Australia for six weeks, and return to New Zealand by the Aorangi on September 17. It is expected there will be 1000 competitors from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. The championship singles, tho rinks championship, the inter-State championship, and a match Australia versus New Zealand will be played.
