WOODVILLE Despite wintry weather conditions thcro was quite a good gathering at the monthly meeting of the Woodville Women's Institute, held on Tuesday afternoon. The president (Airs. Nixon) was in the chair. Seven new members were enrolled and heartily welcomed. A most interesting lecture on “Horticulture” was given by Air. A competition for tho prettiest hand-made handkerchief was won by Airs. T. A. B. Sinclair, the whole of the work shown being of high quality. Airs. Hamilton kindly consented to judge this event, and both Air. and Mrs. Hamilton were accorded very hearty votes of thanks for their good work. Airs. G. L. Hartridgo and Aliss Kirkpatrick had charge of a “surprise packet” stall, which was soon cleared of its parcels. A “mystery bag” guessing competition was won by Airs. Halpin. Afternoon tea was dispensed by the hostesses for the day, Alesdames H. Giles, Hanlon, Olsson and Miss Alathoson, and the singing of the National Anthem closed a happy afternoon. BUNNYTHORPE.
