“Red” Taint Suspected In Unemployment Union
TIMA.RU TURNS IT DOWN. Per Press Association. TIMARU, Last Night. A largely-attended meeting of unemployed to-night considered the question of affiliating with t'ho recently-formed Dominion Unemployment Union and decided by 50 votes to 15 not to have anything to do with it. During the discussion the chairman stated ho was advised by Mr. Walter Nash, parliamentary secretary of the Labour party, to havo nothing to do with tho organisation.
Several speakers stated that the recent demonstrations in Wellington and Christchurch were organised by Communists'as part of a world-wide campaign arranged for August Ist.
