Autumn Tints Chosen By Hawke's Bay Bride
WHITE—POINTON.
At St. Andrew’s Church, Palmerston North, on Easter Monday, the marriage took place of Gladys, only daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. j. Pointon, of Hastings, to Colin Douglas, eldest son of Mrs the late Mr J. W. White, Rahui, Havelock North. The Rev. G. T. Brown was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her brother, wore an ensemble of patterned silk marocain in tonos of wine, Math beretta to match. Her bouquet was of deep apricot roses with autumn foliage and maidenhair fern, tied with bronze ribbons. The bridesmaid was Miss Phyllis Trask, of Palmerston North, who wore a frock of Bergundy satin and felt hat of the same shade. She carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums. Supporting the bridegroom as best man was Mr Goodwill Pratt, of Hastings. Following the ceremony there was a reception at the Broadway Lounge, where a small number of relatives and intimate friends were received by Mrs S. I. Trask, of Palmerston North, on be* half of the bride. Mrs. Trask wore a navy costume with bat to tone, also a fox fur, and carried a bouquet of deep red roses. Mrs. J. W. White, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy marocain frock with hat to tone, smoke grey furs and she carried a bouquet of wine coloured dahlias. The bride and bridegroom left later by car for the north, the bride travelling in a Lido blue tailored frock with semi-Jitting black face-cloth coat trimmed with caracul, and a black velour hat and shoes to match. Their future home will be in Havelock North.
