Collision at Tanpiri
BOTH CARS DAMAGED. HUNTLY, April 3. Two motor-ears collided on the Taupiri bridge over the Mangawhara Stream at Taupiri this morning. One vehicle, driven by Mr. D. P. Allan, of Hamilton East, was proceeding to Auckland, and it met the other car, driven, by Mr. N. R. Gunn, of Richmond road, Ponsonby, who was proceeding south, iu a head-on collision. Both cars were damaged. In backing after the collision the car driven by Mr. Gunn mounted the checkrail of wood on the side of the bridge and narrowly escaped dropping into the stream, which is 18ft. deep. The bridge is a right-angled one to the main South road and has been tho scene of previous accidents.
