Weather in Feilding
The stormy conditions which prevailed over the southern part of the Wellington province on Good Friday did not penetrate to the Fcilding district which only experienced some heavy rain at a late hour on Friday night. A falling barometer reading presaged an unusual disturbance while high wind of cratic direction, with cloud-laden skies, caused holiday makers doubts as to settled weather favouring the Easter vacation. Throughout Friday the hot wind played about Feilding in gusty bursts indicating a cyclonic disturbance of some severity and support for this was given in the barometer reading which fell steadily to 29.02 an unusually low' reading. The heavy rain which fell late on Friday -night endured for some few hours to pass off for a fine day on Saturday. The week-end proved fine and holiday makers took full advantage of the jdeasant conditions. The rainfall for March in Feilding was 1.72 inches which fell on eight days. The average for this month of the year is 2.27, so that, comparatively speaking, Feilding had a dry month.
