The City Band
A pleasing feature of the Bible class camp at Awapuni on Saturday was the first appearance of the Palmerston North City Band. Under the conductorship of Mr. J. B. Thomson, the band rendered several light items in good style, and considering that the band only' commenced three months ago, its performance was worthy of the highest commendation. Mr. Thomson, in thanking the Bible class members and friends for their appreciation of the band’s efforts, said that it was tho intention of both the band and the committee to help wherever possible, and any other public body requiring tho services of the band had but to ask and assistance would bo given willingly. Mr. Thomson is a man of outstanding musical ability and has got together a band of enthusiastic members. It is his intention, providing sufficient help is forthcoming, to enter the contest field next year.
