10 Per Cent Rise at Sydney Wool Sales
MOST ANIMATED COMPETITION United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Monday, 9.20 p.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 2. At the wool sales the offering was 10,643 bales of which 10,505 were sold, also 598 privately. The average price of wool at last week s sales was 7.3 d per pound. There was most animated competition to-day and prices generally were from 74 to, 10 per cent higher for all Merino descriptions. The improvement was most accentuated for finer sorts with keener Continental support. Greasy Merino went to 22id.
