The Feiiding primary schools resumed yesterday following the Christmas vacation. A remit dealing with tho legislation governing tho amount of tho penalty to be imposed on unpaid rates has been forwarded to tho Municipal conference by tho Feiiding Borough Council. .' The remit recommends that tho penalty on unpaid rates after tho ordinary period has expired bo 5 per cent, (instead of 10 per cent, as at present) for a period of one month, and on rates still remaining unpaid a month later the penalty be 10 per cent. The result of the indoor bowls competition for the Foresters' buttons, played last Friday, was as follows: — Worsfold, W. Hurdle, Rosoman, Rosanosld (s) 20 v. Martin, Tollan, Hills, Batten (s) 12. At tho conclusion of the maten an enjoyable supper was provided by Sisters Hastie and Raynor.
