New Terror in Rural Life
A new terror has been added to country life by an ingenious Frenchman who is the proud owner of a cherry orchard, He has installed a scarecrow, fitted with a loud speaker, and has connected this with his wireless set, which operates when ho is not using it for his own amusement. The effect has exceeded all the owner’s expectations. He reports that the birds, having listened to spoeches, lectures, and enormous volumes of assorted music, have now entirely deserted
