IN BANKRUPTCY CREDITORS’ MEETING From Our Own correspondent. Tho adjourned meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of David Drummond, merchant, of Dannevirko, was held on Friday afternoon. Mr. E. Gibbard appeared on behalf of bankrupt and Mr. P. W. Dorrington on behalf of Mr. J. Drummond, senr. The Official Assignee presented a report by Mr. N. Webloy, who had examined bankrupt’s books in accordance with a resolution passed at a provious meeting of creditors. Tho Official Assignee xeportod that the book debts were coming in very well. The sale of bankrupt’s stock had realised approximately £386, after tne deduction of tho auctioneer’s commission, and at present there was about £516 available for distribution among the unsecured creditors. Mr. R. H. Fraser had examined transactions between bankrupt and Mr. J. Drummond, senr., and these were quite satisfactory. No resolution was passed and the meeting adjourned sine die. DANCE RECITAL PUPILS OF MISSES GRANTHAM AND PATSTON Excellent patronage was accorded the dance recital given by the pupils of Misses Grantham and Patston in aid of tho Plunket Society’s funds. The programme included national and classical dances and ballets, all of which wore of a high standard and greatly appreciated by the audience. Misses Grantham and Patston desire to thank all who assisted with the recital—the Flunkct Society for its able support, Mr. Watts for helping with the arrangements and lending the panatrope, tho electricians for tho excellent lighting, and t.he parents for their help and co-operation. GENERAL The rain. on Saturday came in time to spoil the day for local cricketers. Eight members of the Gliding Club motored to Palmerston North yesterday to inspect the Northrop glider in process of construction by the Palmerston North Club, The Dannevirke Municipal Band will visit the public hospital on Thursday evening, weather permitting.
