In an athletic contest at Stamford Bridge Franco beat England by 65 points to 55. Franco won tho 100 yards, Avorgne doing tho distance in 9 4-ssecs. Tho mile was annexed by la Doumerguc, the long jump by Barbier (24ft 4in), tho high jump by Menard (Oft Sin), tho pole jump by Pramadicr (12ft 9in), tho weight putting by Noel (45ft Tin), tho discus by Noel (144 ft lOlin)., France secured places in the discus, long jump (first and second), high jump and weight-putting. England won the 220 yards (Englebart 21 4-ssees), the quarter mile (Brangwin 50 4-ssccs), the half mile (Hampsou Imin 53 4-ssecs), the two miles steeplechase (Bailey lOniin 55 3-5 sees), three mile (Winfield 14min 57 2-5 secs), 120 yards hurdles (Lord Burghley 14 9-lOsces) and tho mile relay.
Dr. Peltzer Suspended Received Sunday, 9 p.m. v BERLIN, Aug. 3. Tho German athletic authorities have suspended Dr. Peltzer, tho famous athlete, because he has not presented his expenses account for his recent world tour. Consequently he will not be participating in the German championships 'now being held.
