Manawatu Boxing Championships To-night
SPLENDID AMATEUR TALENT. The Manawatu. Amateur boxing championships open to-night at Steve Havili’s gymnasium. The entries are numerous and all the best boxers of tho district will be seen in action. Th.o finals will be fought at the Opera House to-morrow night and will be the preliminaries to tho Samon-Lcckie fight. Sarron v. Leckie. The fight between Pete Sarron (America) and -Johnnie Leckie (Napier), is arousing keen interest and there should be a record crowd at the Opera House to-morrow night. Both men have finished their training and are reported to be in the pink of condition. Sarron is already in Palmerston North and Leckie arrives by the Napier expres at mid-day to-day.
