At the Supremo Court to-day before the Chief Justice, Jack Hawes was sentenced to 18 months’ hard labour and Joseph Newton to 12 months' hard labour for having housebreaking implements in their possession and for breaking and entering. John O’Donnell for indecent assault on a female, was ordered 12 months’ reformative imprisonment. Charles Patrick McAllister, for forging and uttering, was sentenced to two years’ hard labour. There were several convictions against him and ho would be declared an habitual criminal.
