Victor Riley, aged 21, of Ararat®, appeared before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Palmerston North Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning on the charge of changing a cheque from E. M. J. Cadwallader from £3 to £l3 and preseating it to Allen Lawrence of Hukanui. On the application of Senior Sergeant Whitehouse accused was remanded until August 4. A claim instituted by Jane L. M. Gau-stad, of Palmerston North, for specific performance came before the Ron. Mr Justice Blair at the Palmerston North Supreme Court yesterday. The defendant was W. E. G. Tucker, of Christchurch, who paid the deposit money on a section in Botanical road sold to him by plaintiff, but had failed, to complete the purchase.
