Auckland Savings Bank Distributes £6250 in Gifts

£2OOO FOR OBSTETRICAL APPEAL. DONATIONS SINCE 1906 TOTAL £llB,lOO. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. Donations totalling £6250 in aid of institutions which aro giving valuable service to the community were announced at the annual meeting of.the trustees of the Auckland Savings Bank. The gifts are subject to the approval of the Governor-General in Council. The New Zealand Obstetrical Endowment appeal is to bo assisted to tho extent of £2OOO. A similar sum is to be 'donated to tho Auckland branch of tho Plunkct Society for the purpose of paying oil' the mortgage on its headquarters building. A gift of £IOOO is to be mado to the Auckland branch of the St. John Ambulance Association. Tho Auckland Hospital Board is to receive £750 for tho creation of an endowment fund towards the purchaso of radium for uso in Auckland. The Sailors’' Home endowment fund is to receive £SOO.

Donations mado by tlib Bank since its inauguration of the practice in 1906 amount to the magnificent total of £llB,lOO and many deserving institutions and causes have benefited, particularly since 1911, when tho donations, with one or two exceptions, have been mado annually.
