RIOO and Graf Zeppelin May be Seen Together

MOORED AT CARDINGTON. British Official Wireless. Ecccivcd Friday, 7 p.m. RUGBY, April 23. Two of the biggest airships in the world, the British RIOO and tho German Graf Zeppelin, will probably be seen side by side at Cardington, near Bedford, on Saturday. The Zeppelin is coming to Cardingttm to pick up Dr. Eckener, her commander, who arrived in England to-day from America. She will arrive on Saturday afternoon and will stay about an hour.

A largo party, numbering 600 or 700 men, drawn mainly from tho Royal Air Force, will handle tho Zeppelin to the mooring mast. Tho RIOO will bo brought from her shed to the mooring mast to-night, if weather conditions are suitable and may make a ten or 12 hours’ flight tomorrow. Once slio has been bi ought out, it is unlikely the RIOO will return to her shed until after her trip across the Atlantic to Canada next month. New engines of a later typo have recently been fitted in the RIOO and theso, as well as tho envelope and wireless installation, will be under special observation during tho flight. This will be the sixth flight of the RIOO and there will probably be others before she leaves for Canada. Tho course for tomorrow’s flight will be decided according to the direction of the wind. Dr. Eckoner Pleads for Aerial Co-operation AIRSHIPS OVER EVERY OCEAN. Received Friday, H p.m. LONDON, April 24. Dr. Eckener, commander of the Graf Zeppelin, had a long talk, with tho Duke of York at York House this afternoon. Ta the evening, he wirelessly broadcast an appeal for international cooperation in airship travel. He said he was convinced that in tho near future there would be airships flying regularly over every ocean. Nations ought to combine in providing lauding, fuelling and pick up places. His high regard for the English made him most anxious for British co-operation in the establishment of an international airship service.
