BENEFIT BY APPROXIMATELY PADDY’S MARKET EFFORT. Mrs. J. A. Nash and her associates may feel justly proud of the financial result of the Paddy’s Market, which came to a conclusion on Saturday evening. The A. and P. Association’s hall was packed, patrons spending freely, Stallholders, quickly sold their wares and holders of lucky numbers, or otherwise, waited until results were announced later in the evening. Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., thanked everybody who had in anyway assisted with Paddy’s Market. Special appreciation was extended the donors of gifts, which were very substantial. For months past the ladies’ committee had been working tirelessly, and throughout the last week had, it seemed, doubled their energies.
It was more than pleasing to noto that the sum of £SOO, or thereabouts, had been raised in this worthy effort. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the secretary and treasurer, Messrs W. Newlands and W. Corbett-Loudon, who had been at tho beck and call of the organisation during the period of the activities.
