Dannevirke Talkies
An invitation was extended to a Times representative to the private screening of the Talkie programme at the De Luxe Theatre, Dannevirke, on Monday evening. The installers are to be congratulated on the equipment which constitutes the latest development of the De Forrest system. Cloth drapings have been used on the walls to prevent resonance of sound, and the demonstration proved the acoustic quality of the reproduction to be good. Last evening the public had their first opportunity to hear the installation when the initial programme including the mystery picture “Behind that Curtain’’ was presented to a full and appreciative house.
