From Our Own Correspondent. Bowling. On the Woodville green on Saturday afternoon, Norman and Curry defeated Cuming and Steel in the pairs championship competition. Later in the day Cuming and Steel defeated Vile and Aim by one point in the play-off. In the rinks championship mateh, Horne defeated Curry by four points, after a well contested game. The Terrace End Club is sending four rinks to Woodville on Saturday next. Personal. Miss Barkwith left Woodville on Saturday for Wellington, where she will be a delegate to the annual conference of the Ancient Order of Foresters. Misses L. Richards and E. Milroy returned to Woodvillo on Saturday after a holiday in Auckland. Mr. Ted Brightwell has left for Eltham, where he joins a party to go pig hunting. Jersey Cattle Club. A meeting of the committee of tho Woodville Jersey Cattle Club was held on Saturday evening, Mr. T. A. B. Sinclair occupying the chair. The business was to elect a delegate to the executive of the combined Jersey cattle clubs’ combined sale, and on the motion of Messrs. Edgar, Harding and Mitchell, Mr. R. C. Leach was appointcd. It was moved that members make inquiries regarding tho running of a Childrens’ Calf Club, with the idea of forming a club in Woodville. Mr. Mitchell moved that enquiries be mado when the English and Soul African farmers would bo visiting the district, and when they visited Woodville, that a field day be held and that each member take several head and make as big a display of Jersey stock as possible.
