Brought Furs Worth Fortune by Plane

LIEUT. EILSON MISSING.

WELL-KNOWN AVIATOR IN WILDS OF. ALASKA.

United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. VANCOUVER, Dec. 4.

A message from Nome (Alaska) stated that Lieutenant Eilson and his mechanic, Mr. Borland, have been lost for a fortnight. All efforts to locate them have failed. Pilot Dorbandt and Lieut. Eilson recently made two trips to the steamer Manuk, which is icebound at the North Cape of Siberia and brought to Nome furs worth a fortune.

Lieut. Eilson became lost on the third trip and there are serious fears that he has starved or frozen to death, though there is always the possibility that the intrepid Northerner is hibernating with the Eskimos somewhere during the remainder of the winter.
