A sensation has been arousod by the dismissal of Professor Sergei Oldenburg, who for a- quarter of a contury has been secretary to tho Leningrad Academy of Sciences. He is accused of concealing documents and revealing the personal activities of the Tsar’s secret policq also the Tsar’s decree of abdication and tho Grand Duke Michael’s renunciation. The two last-named documents were hitherto believed to bo lost.

It is assumed Professor Oldenburg is suspected of trying to schicld the Tsarist s.
