Christchurch Reduces Electricity Charges

CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. M. Reductions aggregating £17,578 in the retail rates for "the supply of electricity were decided upon at last night’s meeting of the City Council. The new charges wil come into operation'on October 1. The principal changes are as follow:—Plat rate units, reduced from 5d to 4d; maxi-; mum demand rate from 6d to 4id a unit; reduced charges for street lamps; 10 per cent, reduction in tho commercial power rates. Tho council also decided to increase the rate for commercial radiators from lid to «-d a unit.
