TO DISCUSS NEW TAXES
FARMERS’ CONFERENCE CALLED The president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union. (Mr W. J. Poison) states that he has called a national convention of the farmers of New Zealand for Thursday next, August 22, to consider the taxation proposals of the Government and decide what representations should be made on tho subject. Professor Murphy has been retained to present an exposition of the effect of a tax on the farming community.
