Weddings

rOXXON WEULUWG. A wedding which occasioned much interest was solemnised at the Presbyterian Church on Monday evening when Josephine, Jessica (Ena), second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Davcy, of Himataugi, was united to Stephen Norman Boss, fourth son of Mrs. Sexton, of Taikorea. The brido who wore a gown of shell pink georgette, and beautiful hand embroidered veil, was attended by her sister, Miss Pansy Davcy as bridesmaid and two little flower girls, Misses Essie and Margaret Henderson, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Henderson, of Palmerston North. The bridesmaid was attired in a pretty gown of pale blue georgetto, with tight fitting bodice of uneven hem, while the flower girls looked sweet in charming frocks of lavender organdie with head bandeaux to match. Tho bride who was given away by her father, carried a shower bouquet of Asparagus and real roses made by her sister, Mrs. Gardiner. Mr. Funnell, of Oroua Downs, acted as best man. Tho ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Bredin., of Palmerston North and Miss Patterson pre-j-sided at tho organ. Tho church was crowded with relatives and friends of tho contracting parties, and after the service, tho wedding breakfast was served in tho Masonic hall, when the usual toasts were honoured. Tho happy couple left later for Taranaki, where tho honeymoon is to bo spent. Mr. and Mrs. Ross arc to reside at Tiakitahuna.

LUGO—SEDDON. On Wednesday evening, June 26, at St. John’s Church, Feilding, the wedding was solemnised of Adelaide, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Seddon, Denbigh street, and Albert John, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli. Lugg, Dorset, England. Entering the church on the arm of her brother, Mr. T. L. Seddon, the bride looked very dainty in a becoming frock of powder blue repp with scarf effect and trimmings of dove grey ray do chine, the waist-line being iinished with pretty buckle in matching shades. A bluo felt hat was worn turned off tho face with a brilliant ornament and a beautiful bouquet of shaded pink roses and golden leaves tied with gold ribbon carried. Mrs. J. Pitman, who was in attendance as matron of honour, was attired in an effective frock of fawn silk marocain with crinolino hat and shoes and stockings to tone, her bouquet being composed of apricot roses and abutimon intermingled with autumn leaves and tied with flame coloured ribbon. Mr. J. Pitman carried out tho duties of best man and Canon P. Petrie was tho officiating clergyman. After the ceremony a reception was held at tho Parish hall, where Mrs. Seddon, tho bride’s mother, received her guests gowned in navy repp relieved with beige, black hat finished with diamante ornament and smart coat of saxo bluo cloth trimmed with grey fur. Her bouquet was in autumn tints. Mrs. J. Simpson, sister of tho bride, wore an attractive fawn tweed suit with hat to tone. Among the invited guests were: Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Wackrill, Mr. and Mrs. J. The handsome wedding cako with its artistic decorations was much admired, and was tho work of frionds of' the bride. The matron of honour was presented by the bridegroom with a very handsome ebony hand mirror. Mr .and Mrs. Lugg were the recipients lof many useful and charming gifts. When the happy couple later left for their honeymoon tho bride was wearing over her frock a lovely coat of powder blue repp trimmed with soft silver grey fur. Mr. and Mrs. Lugg will reside in Feilding.
