PAT HANNA’S FAMOUS DIGGERS

OPERA HOUSE. On Saturday next at the Opera house the well-known Pat Hanna’s Famous Diggers appear, and will no doubt receive a hearty welcome, after an absence of six years from New Zealand. Newspaper reports from Christchurch and Auckland indicate that the company have lost none of their old-time brightness and popularity. Led by versatile Pat Hanna (now known by the stage name of Chic) the show comprises 25 clever performers, and a classical ballet which is a very strong feature of the entertainment. Joe VaUi is leading comedian, and with Mr. Hanna ho is responsible for a comedy clement which has been described as clever, original and witty. Well known to Palmerston North audiences is Jock Thomson, who is still with the companj as leading baritone. Stan Lawson, Ernest Kopke and Roy Bnnsden, also Hilda and Jessie Meadows, piamstc and violinist respectively, c ° l ! tnl ? u . some, entertaining numbers. The baianee' of the company, who are all new to Palmerston North, include Miss Kopke (orchestra leader), Iza Crossley (eomedinue), Chris Kilmer (instrumentalist), Miss Adele Taylor, Wynne Thomson, Madge Gonaghan, Micky Phillips, Thelma Pittard, Myra Webster, Vera Rix, Vida McKenzie, Mr. Norman French, and Norman feeurr. The box plan is now open at the Central Booking office and intending patrons arc strongly advised to book then scats.
