From Our Own Correspondent. Social and Dance. A social and dance was held in the' Foresters’ hall, Woodvillc, on Tuesday evening, in aid of the school snorts fund. The weather rather spoiled the attendance in the early part of the evening, a good number of the dancers arriving about 9 p.m. Inkpen’s Wood!ville orchestra provided the music and euchre was played by the non-dancers. | Magistrate’s Court, i George Herbert Whitfield, alias , George Whitton, alias George .Raymond, was arrested by Constable Skinner at Woodville yesterday morning on a charge of failing to pro--1 vide for his wife at Marton on November last and with obtaining. £0 from John Turnbull, licensee of the Club 'hotel. Opunake, on April 19 last by a certain false pretence, to wit, a valueless cheque. Ho was brought before • Mr. G. W. Wardrop, J.P., and remanded to New Plymouth gaol to appear at Opunake on July 4.
