LADIES’ GOLF CLUB, From Our Own Correspondent. The best cards handed in on Saturday afternoon in the ladies’ stroke competition were as follows: IS holes: Miss Galbraith 111, Miss Goodwin 315; 12 holes: Mrs King 118, Miss Peebles 120. Hockey. The following team will represent Woodvillc against Mangatcra at Daunevirke on Wednesday:—Teague, Morgan, Jorv, West, Duns-tall, Dunstall, Inkpen, Boss, Hutchinson, Worboys, Strand. Emergencies: Horne and Doggett. Referee: Mr Johnston. Cars Ic-ave Post Office at 1.30 p.m. In spite of inclement weather there was a very fair attendance at the Alexandra hall, Woodvillc, on Sunday, when an after church memorial service to the late General Bramwell Booth was conducted. On the platform were the lie vs. W. B. Cuming (Methodist) and G. W. Davidson (Church of England), Adjt. Pratt and his Worship the Mayor (Mr. H. P. Horne). An apology was received from the Rev. Robt, Gardner (Presbyterian). Hymns suitable to the occasion were sung and. the baud playod Several selections. Bandmaster and Mrs Keay rendered a very effective duot. Short addresses were given, special mention being made to tho late General’s work in the interests of the young people. Adjt. Pratt described him as being a -Napoleon of religious organisation.
