BUSINESS GIRL’S LUNCH CLUB

Sir M. A. Elliot addressed members Of the Business Girls’ Lunch club, at their fortnightly meeting at lunch held at the Roseo tea rooms yesterday. Mr Elliot spoke very briefly, and in "a humorous strain, maintaining that ■with autumn tints and glorious colourings, luncheon clubs were the most agreeable features of modern life. With snatches of song and verse, now and again which made the atmosphere so cheering that one wondered how man could sit down and partake of his beef steak alone. . It was the atmosphere of friendship and brightness that made such a difference. The speaker gave an amusing illustration of what “A Chairman” usually said about the prospective speakers as a rule, and what he probably would really like to say, if he were thoroughly honest. In conclusion, Mr Elliot laughingly said that ho thought it far more sensible to eat more food, and talk less. Miss' Mardon thanked the speaker on behalf of the business girls and welcomed Mesdames Elliot and Bockley as visitors fo the club.
