Part of a woman’s personality finds its way into her perfume, and a dominating, over-bearing scent is as unattractive as a similar personality. Ordinarily, the perfume that most appeals to you yourself is tho most suitable for you to use. Choose it because you prefer it, not because it is “fashionable” or expensive, and guard against it being too light or too heavy for your age and. position. When you havo chosen it, stick to it —some people fall for a different perfume every time they visit the perfumer. There is no greater mistake, for one’s perfume should become indissolubly connected with one’s self—till the one is never Thought of without a breath of the other accompanying it. And use it sparingly —above all, cunningly. There are many ways and means of surreptious perfuming —a touch behind each ear, a spray on the hair, in the mouth, or on imitation flowers, a touch on eyebrows, or in the nape of tho nock. Extracts of flowers, “smart” concoctions, simple, oldfashioned perfumes—it matters so much less what they are compared to how you use them. A conspiracy with subtlety of perfume is to choose soap, bath salts, toilec powder all to match. These leave a faint trace about you all day long, forming an according background for your perfected perfumery.
