FAILURE OF ELECTRIC SUPPLY TO WESTPORT
LAKE DRIES DP. RESIDENTS HAVE TO RESORT TO CANDLES. Per Press Association. WESTPORT, Last Night. Owing to the droughty conditions tliat have prevailed since the beginning of tho year. Lake Rochfort, the source of Westport’s electric light and power, has dried up, with the result that tho town was thrown into darkness last evening and is in a similar state tonight. Most of the people who have installed electric lighting in their homes and business places had tho gas fittings out and had to resort to candles and other indifferent lights when the electric supply failed.
